DO MORE WITH YOUR MEDIA.
CLIPWEAVER is a site that allows you to process video and audio media CLIPS and to WEAVE together video and audio with narrative text to create STORIES which can be shared with other users. In CLIPWEAVER a 'Story' is the textual content or information (incorporating any media streams embedded in it) that you want to share with other users. CLIPWEAVER gives you great power and flexibility offering many potential uses:- As a personal website
- As a vehicle for sharing information about yourself or your band
- As a business website
- For making your own online multi-media presentations or documentaries
- As a medium for creating dynamic school/college projects combining text, still photos, sound clips and video
You can upload both video and audio files to CLIPWEAVER, and then use the online tools to create clips from them. With CLIPWEAVER you can interactivly create clips from any video or audio upload, whether it is your own or a shared media on the site. These clips can be combined to create PLAYLISTS, to create whole new video and audio streams, or to embed into the stories. The WEAVING is done by embedding the media directly into the stories themselves. Click here to view examples of stories on CLIPWEAVER illustrating the range of the potential uses. In CLIPWEAVER, the system has a default style for each of the stories. The style covers the font name, the font size, the font colour, and the background colour of the story.
For example, the default font for text is one of Ariel, Geneva, Verdana, or Sans-Serif, depending on your browser, with a default font size of 9pt. The default font colour is #333333.
Using what is called CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) styling code, you can change CLIPWEAVER's default appearance. In CSS code the default appearance is expressed like this:
You can change these settings to give your story a more individual look by inserting CSS coded instructions at the top of the story panel using the {style} macro.
For more background information sbout this styling see CSS Style
For information about how to alter the formatting and style of your story go to the items below:
USEFUL NOTE: To view the codes used to create formatting or links in other stories simply click on VIEW SOURCE at the bottom of the content page. You can copy and paste these instructions to your story page in the usual way.
Try it on this page using the VIEW SOURCE below.

Although CLIPWEAVER has no dedicated facility for linking with other users, using the flexibility of CLIPWEAVER it is very easy to create lists of friends. Simply create a new story listing the users you want to include and create links to their accounts by typing [user:their user name]. There you can read and edit their stories, view their media and send them messages.
